Run for Acceptance
Under the motto “Run for Acceptance”, over 1000 participants have been taking part in the Pride Run Vienna each year since 2018! The run is characterised in particular by the fact that a running community is formed for the rights and visibility of LGBTIQ people! In 2020, Vienna Pride and the Pride Run were cancelled due to the pandemic. In 2021, the Pride Run took place only virtually due to the uncertain situation.
With more experience after two Covid years, a new route tailored to it and the ability to check 2G+ proofs (certificate of being vaccinated or recovered and tested) on site, we can finally have a “real” Pride Run 2022 again.
Route in 2022
In 2022 the Pride Run will be held on Prater Hauptallee which allows a suitable setting for the ongoing Covid situation.
The start and finish will be directly on the Prater Hauptallee near Vivariumstraße and the Prater tent. The award ceremony, food and drinks offered by food trucks and a small closing party will take place on site in the open but roofed Prater tent.
Um 2022 nach zwei Corona-Jahren eine neue auf diese Situation abgestimmte Route ermöglichen zu können, weicht der Pride Run dieses Jahr auf die Prater Hauptallee aus.
Pride Run 2022 with 2G+
The safety of the everyony involved in the Pride Run is our top priority. Therefore, a 2G+ obligation applies to the Pride Run Vienna 2022 until further notice. Even supporters who do not take part in the run but attend the closing ceremony or the award ceremony must be able to show a certificate of being vaccinated or recovered and a valid test certificate as well as a photo ID on site.
If parts of the programme are not possible due to legal restrictions, only the run will take place on site. If the run is also no longer feasible due to legal restrictions or other concerns, the run will take place virtually as in 2021.
